ECOVE Delivers Speech on EfW O&M Experience at the Global Harbor Cities Forum

ECOVE is an environmental services provider specializing in Energy-from-Waste (EfW). Among the 24 EfW Plants in Taiwan, over 2/3 are managed by ECOVE providing services in Operations and Maintenance, Commissioning, Revamping and Overhaul, and Upgrade and Improve Systems and Equipment. ECOVE's successful experience in the treatment of garbage and wastes was appreciated by Kaohsiung Economic Development Bureau and has been invited to the Global Harbor Cities Forum to deliver a speech.

Most EfW plants in Taiwan have been operated for at least 15 years. In recent years, since the boilers have deteriorated with broken tubes, sinters on the wall, and exhaust gas flue leaking, unscheduled shutdown has occurred frequently, which has affected revenue due to low incineration availability rate and poor operation efficiency. The Global Harbor Cities Forum, organized by Economic Development Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government, which expected to introduce the latest incineration technologies for life extension of EfW plants, has attracted numerous government officials, scholars, experts, institutions around the world.

On behalf of company, Richard Huang, ECOVE sales manager, made a speech on “The role of an EfW plant in circular economy and sharing of sustainable O&M experience”. Huang indicated that ECOVE successfully assisted Gangshan and Kanding EfW Plants in revamping work to advance efficiencies in resource cycling. ECOVE not only prolonged service life of EfW plants, but also exported its successful O&M experience in EfW to obtain the operation rights of Macao EfW Plant and Macao Hazardous Waste Treatment Plant. Now, ECOVE is actively looking to expands EfW business into New Southbound countries.

Huang also mentioned that ECOVE has long been dedicated to cooperation and shouldering responsibilities economically, socially, and environmentally; the efforts have been recognized with “Top 100 for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility” for four successive years. In addition, ECOVE Tainan Science Park Resource Recycling Center, the Winner of 2016-2017 ROC Enterprise Environmental Protection Sliver Award, Honored with “Honorary Award” from EPA. “ECOVE will keep reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the concept of environmental protection toward the green sustainable environment”, Huang said.

Huang's speech drew a lively discussion, during which he interacted with participants who recognized that ECOVE's experience in waste treatment could be applied in other countries. As a leader in Taiwan's resource recycling industry, ECOVE, committed to actively participating in national/regional agendas and policies, is willing to share with peers and other countries in the world the successful experience in municipal solid waste management.
