ECOVE Builds Taipei’s Largest Rooftop Photovoltaic Facilities at Beitou Depot, Supplying for 1,100 Households Yearly

ECOVE, Taiwan’s largest environmental resource management company, announced that it has completed a photovoltaic project at Beitou Depot, the largest solar power plant in Taipei City. The photovoltaic facilities are expected to generate 3,980MWh green power which could supply for 1,100 households yearly and cut down 2,205 metric tons of carbon emission annually, equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by six Taipei Da'an Forest Parks.

In response to the government’s promotion for renewable energy, the Taipei Metro selected its Beitou Depot to install solar modules, the first and largest photovoltaic construction of the Taipei Metro. After a rigorous selection process, ECOVE obtained development rights and takes responsibility for the overall planning, investment, construction and operation of the photovoltaic facilities.

For the reason that Taipei City takes up less lands and the solar radiation of which is less than in the south, ECOVE makes good use of the rooftop , laying over 10,000 solar modules to build Beitou solar power plant, which is expected to become an exemplary photovoltaic park in Taipei City.

In addition to Taipei Metro’s photovoltaic project, ECOVE has long been in cooperation with local governments and major public transportation institutions, such as Taoyuan Metro Corp., Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corp., Taiwan High Speed Rail Company, Hualien County Gov't, Civil Aviation Administration, and Taiwan Port Corp. to develop investment in photovoltaic power system. With its abundant experience, ECOVE will continue to support renewable energy projects with actions and establish a new model for power industry in green energy construction in Taiwan.
