ECOVE Promotes Green Transportation to Create a Sustainable Environment

Since its establishment, ECOVE has always been actively striving to create a safe workplace environment; "Workplace Safety is a Priority" is established as ECOVE's safety culture. For instance, ECOVE takes lead in adopting flatbed truck safety net coverage and retraction device in Taiwan, to ensure a safe workplace for employees. Moreover, to contribute toward air pollution reduction and energy consumption, ECOVE has also voluntarily purchased the latest model of eco-friendly diesel vehicle in response to the government's "green transportation" policy.

Pioneered Patented Flatbed Truck Safety Net Coverage

ECOVE strives to grow "Resource Cycling' Efficiency"™ in day-to-day operations. As such, the prerequisite to increase efficiency is to create a safe workplace where everyone can work with peace of mind.

Taking flatbed truck for example, in the past, when loading onto a flatbed truck, disposal operators needed to stand on top of the cargo to tie or cover the cargo with nets (see Image 1) to prevent the cargo from shifting or falling.Therefore, it may so happen that operators are subjected to occupational injuries such as tripping or falling due to uneven cargo.

To effectively prevent occupational injuries during flatbed truck operations, in reference to international practices, ECOVE actively develops an electronic escalator device, optimizing the net coverage/retraction process and certificated with a national patent.Thus, operators no longer need to stand on top of the cargo to either lay out or retract nets,and easily accomplish related tasks by standing on the truck itself. 

By taking proactive measures to ensure employee safety, ECOVE has reduced the occurrence rate of occupational incidents as well as shortened the cargo loading / unloading time. As a result, the company remarkably improves work efficiency and productivity.

Aligned with Green Transportation Policy

With global warming and air pollution become increasingly severe, the government has been actively promoting "green transportation," in which companies are encouraged to purchase low-pollution, energy-saving, and intelligent transportation vehicles. 

As a practitioner of resource cycling, ECOVE actively participates in the government's environmental policies, and has made the following substantial contributions toward environmental topics such as green vehicles and clean transportation:

Purchase Eco-friendly Vehicles

Diesel vehicles in Taiwan can be classified into emission standard levels 1 through 5, and currently, most of the vehicles on the road are between levels 2 and 4. ECOVE strives to reduce air pollution, and has been gradually replacing old and worn-out service cars since 2014. At the same time, ECOVE purchased level 5 eco-friendly vehicles that meet the latest standards to reduce emissions of black smoke. As of the end of 2018, level 3 (inclusive) vehicles and below have all be replaced by ECOVE, increasing the ratio of level 5 vehicles at 50%. Relevant management also complies with ISO 14001 and corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirements and commitments.

Reduce Vehicle Idle Time & Increase Fuel Efficiency

Besides purchasing eco-friendly vehicles, ECOVE has built an intelligent "Comprehensive Transportation Management System" to reduce fossil fuel consumption. The system allows us to understand real-time operations, oversee vehicles idle time, speed, and location, enhance fuel efficiency, and ensure driving safety. 

Taking average fuel efficiency(km/liter) for an example, from 2016 to 2018, they were 2.49, 2.67, and 2.97 respectively, increasing by 19.27%(see Image 3).
