All of ECOVE's Business Fields Have Passed BS 8001 Circular Economy Audit, A Step Closer to Becoming Net-Zero Carbon Enterprise

After obtaining the world's first-ever "BS 8001 Circular Economy Standard" certificate, ECOVE is recently audited by British Standards Institution (BSI), a well-known third-party verification organization, for "resource cycling service integration, innovation, and efficiency improvement." The audit result indicated highest overall maturity and optimal level of innovation. All business areas are now certified to circular economy standards. This clearly shows that ECOVE is helping to increase economic, environmental, and social benefits through efficient resource management. The company is improving every single resource’s recycling utilization rate and resource cycling efficiency™, so that company-wide operations and services provided are in compliance with the principles and model of the circular economy.

With more than 20 years involved in the technical and management aspects of waste incineration business, ECOVE has operated, maintained, renovated, acted as consultor, or upgraded as many as two-third of energy-from-waste (EfW) plants among 24 municipal waste incineration plants in Taiwan. With knowledge of the waste treatment life cycle, ECOVE has made breakthroughs along the way, becoming the first company in the world to obtain BS 8001 certificate in October 2017 with respect to "EfW and waste management and efficiency improvement," just five months after the world’s pioneering circular economy standard BS 8001 was unveiled in May.

The scarcity of water resources has given rise to a crisis, which has led ECOVE to actively invest in water-related projects. ECOVE has applied its successful experiences and expertise in EfW plant operation and maintenance, intelligent data management, and equipment upgrades to projects in the water industry. In 2019, ECOVE became the first company in Taiwan that is certified to BS 8001 standard on "reclamation of water resources." 

Adhering to the core spirit of "Every Resource Counts," ECOVE applies its accumulated experience and technologies from waste management and EfW, as well as intelligent systems and data management, to other business fields in a practical and effective manner. After being certified to " EfW and waste management and efficiency improvement" as well as " reclamation of water resources," this time ECOVE is audited for "resource recycling service integration, innovation, and efficiency improvement" by targeting three primary business fields: waste management and EfW, renewable energy, as well as recycling and reuse. Audit result shows that ECOVE has reached highest overall maturity level and optimal level of innovation. In effect, all of ECOVE’s business fields are now certified to circular economy standards, one step closer towards becoming a net-zero carbon enterprise.
