ECOVE Directors Visit Three Major Investment Projects, Highly Recognizing ECOVE’s Performance on Circular Economy

ECOVE, having spent significant efforts realizing circular economy through three of its business fields of waste management and EfW (Energy-from-Waste), renewable energy, as well as recycling and reuse, has been recognized by various sectors. On Mar. 16th, accompanied by Chairman Liao, ECOVE’s outside and independent directors paid special visits to the three major investments of ECOVE: Solar photovoltaic (PV) farm at Qingpu Depot, ECOVE Solvent Recycling Corporation which is specialized in waste solvent reuse, and the biomass energy center in Taoyuan City.

The first stop was Taoyuan Metro’s Qingpu Depot. After hearing a brief introduction, directors went up onto the roof to inspect the solar farm. In addition to asking questions about the lifespan and power generation of solar panels, the directors were impressed by the non-destructive construction methods, with which the roof was specially designed to prevent leaking and other situations that would have affected future operation.

The second stop was ECOVE Solvent Recycling Corporation (ECOVE SRC) which has been successfully helping high-tech enterprises recycle and reuse waste isopropyl alcohol (W-IPA). Following clear introductions and a site visit, the directors commended ECOVE SRC for maximizing the value of recycling and reuse through effective use of plant spaces and compliance with rigid fire codes to ensure the safety of operation.

In the afternoon, the directors arrived at Taoyuan Biomass Energy Center which will enter commissioning in the 2nd half of this year. This is the first integrated waste management plant in Taiwan that introduces advanced technologies from overseas, whose engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) works are taken care of by ECOVE’s mother company, CTCI Corporation, whereas the O&M works are contracted to ECOVE. Not only does its power generation efficiency reaches 25% or above, the highest in Taiwan, but it follows the world’s most rigid standard, European Standards, meaning that whether on treatment technology, energy transmission efficiency or emission standard, the plant is in compliance with international practices and reaches double benefits of waste management and EfW. The directors collectively expressed hopes to visit the plant again after it enters commercial operation.

Through this event, the directors developed greater understanding on ECOVE’s investments for plant constructions and operations. They highly recognized ECOVE for making good use of current advantages to realize circular economy, and fulfil corporate social responsibilities.
