ECOVE Elevates the Circular Value of Waste Solvents with High-Value, One-stop Services

Amid the global shift toward "zero waste," industries are actively pursuing the maximization of resource utilization through technological advancements. Among these efforts, the treatment of high-tech process liquid waste—characterized by high technical barriers and significant environmental impact—has become an important indicator of the effectiveness of green transformation.

ECOVE has made resource cycling its mission. Its subsidiary, ECOVE Solvent Recycling Corp. (ECOVE SRC), focuses on high-tech liquid waste treatment. Adhering to the principle of upcycling, it continues to invest in the research and development of electronic-grade isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to deliver high-value products. In response to clients’ needs to establish in-house waste management centers, it offers customized, one-stop services covering planning, construction, operation, and product sales. Through an innovative business model, ECOVE SRC has successfully partnered with clients to reduce waste, minimize volume, and lower carbon emissions, co-creating a long-term circular value. Against this backdrop, the following sections explore the development challenges and business opportunities in waste solvent recycling and reuse.

Industry Dynamics: From Compliance Treatment to Value Creation

With the growing emphasis on ESG principles, corporate resource management is no longer limited to back-end waste disposal; it has extended upstream to include process optimization. To ensure that every resource delivers maximum value throughout the production chain, it has become a major trend in the global circular economy to reduce the use of hazardous raw materials, adopt more durable materials, and establish a systematic resource circulation system framework.

Under this trend, the high-tech industry's requirements for waste management have undergone a structural shift, moving from passive legal compliance to a proactive emphasis on "value creation" and the development of sustainable competitiveness. This change has prompted companies to establish in-house "waste management centers" and integrate recycling processes into their production systems, making them an integral part of the production process.

Waste solvent recycling and reuse, as a key element in this transformation, has also seen changes in its business model. It has not only reshaped the division of labor and collaborative relationships within the industry chain, but also opened new opportunities for strategic positioning for industry participants.

Structural Transformation: In-House Recycling Trend Drives the Reordering of the Value Chain

For traditional recycling service providers, the shift in corporate recycling and regeneration processes from outsourced treatment to in-house processing has brought structural declines in treatment volumes and changes to profit models. However, from a strategic perspective, this is not a decline of the industry but rather a reconfiguration of the value chain.

With waste solvents redefined from “cost” to “resource,” market demand has shifted from engaging single waste management contractors to seeking integrated service providers that offer high-value recycled products and provide process optimization advisory services and circular benefit assessments. This has compelled service providers to transform and upgrade, positioning themselves as multifunctional strategic partners that supply both high-value products and integrated solutions.

ECOVE SRC's Strategic Positioning: Business Model Innovation for Win-Win Opportunities

In response to the structural changes in the industry, ECOVE SRC is actively pursuing transformation and upgrading, shifting its operational focus from “treatment capacity” to “high-value products and integrated services.” Its strategies focus on the following two key aspects:
I. Transition from Waste Management Company to a Supplier of High-Value Raw Materials
ECOVE SRC has leveraged its expertise in purification and regeneration technologies to upgrade recovered IPA for reuse as industrial-grade feedstock, substantially improving resource utilization efficiency. Adhering to the principle of upcycling, ECOVE SRC actively collaborates with industry and academic partners and continues to advance the research and development of electronic-grade IPA (≥99.5% to ≥99.9%). Through data collection from pilot-scale facilities and the optimization of production processes, it expects to achieve economies of scale in production in the near future, thereby realizing its vision of waste and carbon reduction at the source.
II. Provide One-Stop Services to Deepen Partner Relationships
Under the framework of the circular economy, ECOVE SRC has transformed from a contractor into a strategic value chain partner. Leveraging the strong EPC turnkey capabilities of its parent company, CTCI Group, ECOVE SRC is able to provide one-stop services for companies establishing in-house waste management centers, covering planning, construction, operation, and product sales. This service model not only ensures stable facility operations and regulatory compliance, and reduces operational and technical risks, but also directly helps clients achieve their sustainability goals of waste reduction, volume minimization, and carbon reduction.
In the downstream commercial cycle, ECOVE SRC not only assists in sales, but also implements a repurchase mechanism to acquire in-house recycled solvents for further concentration processing, and subsequently resells or supplies high-quality products to meet market demand. This collaborative model enables companies to significantly reduce waste management and raw material costs, while ECOVE SRC, leveraging its expertise in high-value-added technologies, works with clients to convert liquid waste into high-value resources, achieving a win-win outcome for both economic and environmental benefits.

Working with Stakeholders to Build Sustainable Competitiveness

Although the trend of companies establishing in-house waste management centers has had a short-term impact on the traditional market, it has also opened up new opportunities for high-value industry development and service model innovation. ECOVE SRC will continue to advance the research and development of high-purity electronic-grade IPA and leverage its one-stop service model to deliver its expertise, collaborating with stakeholders to pursue a sustainable future that delivers both environmental and economic benefits.
